Do you feel trapped in the mundane ways of life? It’s easy to get caught up in the routine and the schedules. Wake up, shower, eat breakfast, go to work, go to the gym, come home, eat dinner, watch TV, go to bed; wash, rinse and repeat. Maybe you throw in going to dinner and seeing a movie every now and then but when was the last time you really went outside your comfort zone and experienced something new? Here are just a few ideas to get your brain functioning again. It’s probably been awhile since you’ve pulled out the creative gene so give yourself a break as your mind dusts off those rusty wheels and gets moving.

Scuba Diving
This is different to snorkeling. Strapping on your scuba gear and diving into the waters allows you to experience a whole new world. The sounds and sights that you will hear and see that deep under water are simply spectacular. There are various scuba gear packages that are available. You probably can usually rent scuba gear like the scuba tanks and wet suits at location where the guide is going to take you out. Or maybe you want to invest in your own scuba diving equipment and really make a hobby out of this. Either way, it’s definitely a good way to get away from the monotony of life.

Shooting
What a way to get some stress of your shoulders. You could go out to a shooting range, rent some guns or take your own if you have them and take out your frustrations on a cardboard target. Or, maybe you are more partial to the adrenaline rush of hunting. Just make sure that you read up on all of the regulations and rules of your state before you head out hunting. If you do something wrong you could be in some serious trouble. In any case, shooting a gun is just such a satisfying feeling; like you just released some tormented soul from your barrel.

Sky Diving
It could be sky diving, it could be bungee jumping or cliff jumping; whatever the case, jumping out in to the mid air from such a height gives you a feeling like no other. If you are one of those adrenaline junkies then you are going to have to try all three of the above mentioned activities. You are literally putting your trust in a parachute, a bungee cord or simply your own estimate of where the water is, depending on which activity you are doing.

Horse Back Riding
Depending on how much you want to get in to it, there’s a simple trail ride led by a qualified guide or you could actually take lessons and learn to trot and canter. Trail rides usually don’t let you do much more than walk the horse and enjoy the scenery but even that is such a wonderful experiences. Horses are magnificent beasts and the power in their bodies will make you feel just nervous enough to have a great time.

Fly a Plane
Did you even know that civilian people could do that? It’s true! How else do you think pilots learn to fly? The pilot sits in his seat with his controls in front of him and then you sit in the co-pilot seat with another set of controls. The pilot will teach you the basics of flying on the ground and then you’ll take off and put it in to practice. It’s completely safe because if you freak out or something goes wrong, the pilot can switch over control to his side of the plane and level everything off.

If you aren’t the major activity kind of person then there are other things that you could still do. Snorkeling is a good alternative for scuba diving although scuba gear looks cooler. If you aren’t into guns or hunting them you might try fishing, it’s the same kind of relaxing experience and you can still get dinner out of it. There is no real alternative to the other choices but hopefully there is enough here that you can grease off your brain and get the wheels turning in a direction that will help you feel alive once again.
