Weekend Weather Does Not Always Cooperate with Boating Plans

This has been the strangest start to the summer!
Every weekend, it rains. The weekdays are great, but the weekends are wet. So wet, in fact, that you have had more than enough time to take care of the maintenance and upkeep issues on your boat. You have used marine carpet glue to install new flooring in the entire boat. You have cleaned and conditioned the leather seats. You have repaired or replaced all of the ski ropes and inter tube tow ropes. Now all you need is some dry weather so that you can enjoy all of your work and preparation.
In past summers, the weekend boating has been so fast and so furious that you could barely find time to maintain the interior of the boat the way that you would like, and this summer it has literally been all work and no play. Your wife jokes that you could not at this point even find another place that required marine carpet glue if you looked.

Summer Boating Schedules Can be Complicated

Whether you are looking for time to make some needed upgrades to the interior of your boat or you are simply looking for some cooperative weather so you can get out on the water on the days you have off, boating can be a challenge. From boat carpet kits that you hastily install on a weekend after a problem occurred to rearranging your work schedule so that you can try to take advantage of good weather, there are many times when life at the lake can seem like more work than fun.

One of the ways that the best boat owners make sure that they are ready for the good weather whenever it finally appears is to make sure that every part of the boat is well maintained. This means not only the engine and the rudder, but also the interior of the boar, from the seats to the boat flooring. Today, more than 87 million U.S. adults participate in recreational boating, but the people who get the most enjoyment out of their boats are the ones who make sure that it is always well maintained and ready to go.

If you are one of the 95% of all Americans who live within an hour’s drive of a navigable body of water you likely know the delicate balance between the weather forecast and boat maintenance.
